Welcome to Sydney Secondary College.

Sydney Secondary College is a dynamic, public, co-educational college located in the inner city of Sydney. We have three campuses, Balmain and Leichhardt which specialise in middle schooling for students in years 7-10 and our senior campus, Blackwattle Bay at Glebe offers a young adult learning environment for students preparing for the Higher School Certificate. We offer selective, enrichment, comprehensive and special education classes across all campuses. We are strengthened and energised by our many students from diverse backgrounds and abilities working together.

Our College provides excellence in education based on quality, opportunity and diversity.  We have over 2300 students and a highly experienced executive team that includes four Principals, seven Deputy Principals, and 30 Head Teachers. This highly qualified team leads over 190 committed and innovative teachers in delivering quality teaching and learning for our students. Our dedicated learning support officers and administration team support our teaching staff. Together we offer strong, future forward educational leadership to our community.

Our College Heritage

Established in 2002, we are proud of its achievements and the great traditions of Public Education on which it is founded.

The creation of the college was in response to the need to revitalise public, secondary education in the inner city of Sydney, and specifically to ensure improved middle schooling in Years 7 to 10 and provision of a wider curriculum choice for Years 11 to 12 in a senior learning environment.

Our College Values

Our school values include: quality, opportunity, diversity, learning, respect, responsibility, cooperation, safety, achievement, fairness, integrity, participation, care and democracy.
