Community involvement

Our school values strong partnerships with our families and community. Throughout the year we have opportunities for families and friends to come on campus and be involved. School community members can also get involved through our Parents and Citizens Association (P&C). Your time and support help make our school a better place for everyone.

Opportunities for family and friends

At Sydney Secondary College Leichhardt we value opportunities for the family and friends of our students to be a part of their education. Find out about opportunities to get involved and see what we have been learning.

Students perform at the Sydney Conservatorium of Music
Our Instrumental Music Program (IMP) holds four performance nights each year. All members of the school community are welcome to attend.
The school quad where our year 7 meet and greet is held
Each year our P&C run a meet and greet for parents of new year 7 students to welcome them to the school.

The CAPA Soiree is held once a year and showcases our talented student artists, musicians, and dancers.

The STEM showcase is held twice a year with students presenting the project work they have completed in their Technology classes.

Recognition ceremonies celebrate our students' academic, sporting and social achievements.

Pride Night invites our First Nations students and families to meet with school staff and forge productive partnerships in learning.
Every second year SSCL stages a whole-school musical production. The whole school community is invited.

Parents and Citizens Association (P&C)

Our P&C is a group of parents, carers and school community members. They assist with school planning, fundraising, events and volunteering. Our P&C works in partnership with our school to promote the interests of our school community.

Joining the P&C a great way to meet other families, get involved and contribute to our school's future. We would love to have you on board!

P&C meetings

Meetings are held in the administration building, enter at gate 2 near the corner of Allen St and Derbyshire Rd.

Meetings are held twice a term on Mondays. See our calendar for the date of the next P&C meeting. All are welcome to attend.

To become a member of a subcommittee, to vote on P&C matters, or to hold office you need to be a paid member. It’s only a $2 donation to join, and your money helps us raise funds for the school.
