Equipment lists and BYOD

Equipment and Books

As well as subject-specific books and equipment as set out in the equipment list, all students are expected to bring a pencil case containing blue/black & red pens, eraser, ruler, highlighter, glue, lead and coloured pencils, pencil sharpener and a scientific NESA approved calculator.  A student diary/planner is supplied to our Year 7 students and all other students can purchase one if required.

All students must have wired earphones that connect to their laptop (not Bluetooth) for Naplan, Check-ins, HSC Minimum Standard Assessments, and core subjects.

See the full equipment list for each subject below.

Bring your own device (BYOD)

Bring your own device (BYOD) refers to a technology model where students bring a personally owned device to school for the purpose of learning. Sydney Secondary College Leichhardt Campus expects all students to bring their own laptop to school. It is recommended that students have a protective case for computer devices and they are brought to school fully charged.

BYOD Day Loan request

Students who do not have a device to bring to school are able to request the use of school laptops on a Day Loan basis through the library. Laptops should be picked up between 8.35 am and 9.10am ONLY and returned by 3:10pm. Students are permitted to borrow a Day Loan Laptop up to two times per week. All students are expected to be prepared for school with their own full charged laptop, books and stationery.

If a student device is being repaired, students can borrow a day loan laptop for an extended period. This must be requested by a parent/carer using the Day Loan Laptop request form. This form should be completed by their parent/carer.

If you are experiencing difficulties providing a device for a student and need a long-term loan, please contact the Head Teacher Wellbeing via the school email.
