At Sydney Secondary College Leichhardt Campus, we offer a variety of programs in the classroom and across the school to help students build new skills, make friends and explore new interests.

Creative and performing arts

Our drama, music and art programs help students be creative and express themselves. Options include the Drama Ensemble, Dance Cub, Art Club and Crochet Club.

For music enthusiasts, we offer the Rock Band, Instrumental Music Program, and Vocal Ensemble, providing a vibrant environment to nurture musical passion and skills.

Every second year, our school proudly presents a major school production, offering students a fantastic opportunity to showcase their performing skills in a full-scale theatrical performance.

Join the Girls Group and Boys Group to connect, share experiences, and build confidence in a supportive environment. SAGA (Sexuality and Gender Alliance) provides a welcoming space for LGBTQ+ students and allies to celebrate diversity and promote inclusivity.

For strategic minds, our Chess Club offers a chance to develop critical thinking and enjoy friendly competition. If you love adventure and storytelling, the Dungeons & Dragons (D&D) club is the perfect place to unleash your creativity and teamwork.

Debating and SRC

Students can develop critical thinking, communication and teamwork skills in Debating Club and the SRC (student representative council). Debating members have the opportunity to compete in local and state competitions, while SRC members play an active role in shaping school decisions, as well as fundraising for worthy causes.

Trips and excursions

Our students enjoy getting out of the classroom to explore, learn and try new things.

These experiences help them grow, build confidence and see how their learning connects to the world.

Sporty students

Those passionate about sports can join the Pickleball Club for fun, fast-paced games or get involved in Representative Sport to compete at higher levels and represent our school with pride.

Gala days offer the opportunity for fun competition, and all students have the opportunity to participate in our yearly Swimming, Athletics and Cross Country carnivals.

Talented Athlete Program (TAP)

TAP caters to the diverse needs of our students who demonstrate exceptional athletic abilities. This program provides a supportive and nurturing environment for these talented young athletes, offering specialised training, access to coaching and facilities, and personalised development plans to help them excel in their chosen sports.
