From the Principal

Welcome to Sydney Secondary College Leichhardt Campus

At Sydney Secondary College Leichhardt Campus we are committed to providing a quality education and the opportunity for every student to reach their potential in a  supportive environment which reflects and celebrates the diversity in our society and promotes a strong sense of belonging.

Quality Teaching is a central platform of the schools strategic directions and high expectations are placed on students’ academic achievement. The school provides an educational environment and learning atmosphere that is appropriate for the personal and social developmental needs of young adolescents, including extensive transition programs, both from primary to high school and to SSC Blackwattle Bay campus in Year 11. The encouragement of respect for everyone is promoted through the well-established Positive Behaviour for Learning program that is integral to all Sydney Secondary College campuses.

At Sydney Secondary College we foster cross campus teaching opportunities for staff to work proactively together across middle and senior school settings. All SSC principals work together through the College Management Group to enact their responsibility for effective collegiate decision-making.

A commitment to innovative, rigorous and future focused education to build a culture of life long learning for both students and teachers underpins the strategic directions of Leichhardt Campus. There are a broad range of extra curricular sporting and performing arts opportunities including a College Instrumental Music Program which has 10 ensembles. There are strong links to the broader community and a highly effective and involved P & C organisation supports the school.

We are all committed to achieving our personal best in the supported safety of our learning community.
