Why Sydney Secondary College?

Sydney Secondary College was formed in 2002. It is an innovative multi campus facility that caters for the education of young people in the inner city.

Balmain and Leichhardt Campuses cater for years 7-10 students. They then move to the young adult learning environment of Blackwattle Bay Campus at Glebe to complete years 11-12.

Over 1900 students attend the college and strong partnerships have been forged with partner primary schools, TAFE and universities.

Leichhardt Campus provides a modern and stimulating learning environment. Each key learning area has access to smartboards, computer labs and wireless access throughout the school. In 2010 students in Years 9 and 10 will have their own laptop.

A refurbished canteen and covered outside learning area were completed in December 2009. Our four science labs were modernised in early 2010 and our school oval has been re-surfaced in partnership with Leichhardt Council. This will provide an excellent sporting facility for our school and local junior sporting teams.

We have a strong P&C that meets regularly at a campus and college level.
